About the Opportunity
Join our distributed development team for a flexible, remote internship where you’ll gain real-world experience building custom WordPress solutions and mobile applications. This is a hands-on opportunity to develop professional skills in full-stack development while working on production projects.
What You’ll Work On
- Develop custom WordPress plugins from scratch
- Test and debug applications across platforms
- Build mobile apps for iOS and Android (using Flutter) that integrate with WordPress via REST API
- Work with modern development tools including PHPStorm, GitHub, and AI-assisted development with Claude
Tech Stack
- Backend: PHP, WordPress, REST API
- Frontend: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Mobile: Flutter (advantage if you already know it)
- Tools: PHPStorm, GitHub, Claude AI
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Software Development through BYU Pathway Worldwide
- Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming
- Ability to learn and use AI tools (Claude) effectively in development workflow
- Self-directed and comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision
- Programming fluency (we’ll teach you WordPress and PHP specifics)
Bonus:
- Experience with Flutter
- Previous experience with version control (Git/GitHub)
Internship Details
- Duration: One semester (14 weeks) with flexible extension options
- Hours: 20-40 hours per week (flexible based on your availability)
- Location: Fully remote
- Start Date: Immediately available
- Compensation: To Be Determined Based on Country of Residence
